Sample Testimonial
As a sophomore student I was very involved with a campus Bible study group organized by the Navigators and my church. But then somewhere in my thinking I decided that Christian fellowship and Bible study should be put on the back burner until I got my studies and grades where I wanted. Moreover, I was taking engineering classes and competing with pre-med students who studied all the time. Eventually, unbeknown to me, my morning devotion and personal quiet times with God also took to the back burner. Ultimately, these changes impacted my Christian living and lifestyle and associations and interests. What once I had undertaken as temporary changes until I can get my grades up became permanent lifestyle changes that undermined my Christian growth and negated my Christian testimony. In essence, some things aid Christian growth and some things don’t. Making Christ and one’s faith take the back seat to other temporal pursuits does not aid Christian growth, no matter what benefits those changes promise. Personal time with God and supportive Christian fellowship both foster Christian growth. Earthly goals and ambitions are important to have but they should never supplant God and what one must do to stay spiritually alive and connected. Growing a plant takes care and work, and so does nurturing one’s faith. Whatever Christ call fill in our lives will be filled by our adversary. And whatever our adversary fills spells doom to our testimony and growth.
