Sexualized Body Parts – Academic Distractions (Proverbs 5-7; NIV)

Sexualized attires that emphasize the allure of human body contours are today’s classroom norms.  Sometimes, and unintentionally, such gabs tantalize unguarded imaginations and inspire ungodly thoughts and desires.  It is “lack of discipline” and “folly” to be misled by the false promises of half-clad and sexualized male or female body parts.  Rather than long lasting pleasures, the outcomes of those who indulge are entrapment, “bitter,” “crooked,” “cruel” and public “ruin.”  “Why be captivated” and why “lust in your heart” after false beauty and fulfillments?  Asks the biblical Wisdom writer.

Application

• Godly wisdom always preserves insight, discipline, discretion and knowledge
• The false promises of enduring pleasures are the lures and deceits of sexual temptations
• A seduced victim is captivated by the immediate or easy fulfillments
• The disappointments, entrapments and heartaches of immorality are usually long lasting
• Family, friends and community are sometimes affected
• Whoever lingers over sexual temptations lacks “judgment.”
