Workplace Week 37: Skeptics, Critics & Spiritual Tramsformations
Workplace Meditation
Skeptics, Critics & Transformations
Bible Passage: John 9 (NIV)
Passage Key Words: “born blind,” “came home seeing,” neighbors, others, Pharisees, parents
Topical Key Words: spiritual change and spiritual opposition
The Apostle Paul became a Christian unexpected and the transformative change in his life and message generated controversy and opposition. The blind man who Jesus healed and gave his sight also experienced changes that created skeptics, critics and fearful supporters. When God transforms lives and changes their outlook and life’s purpose, a public backlash generally follows. Some fear the change; others doubt and suspect it; and a few question the social value of the change.
However, neither Paul nor the blind man denied their experience or run from the demands that they speak and live out their change. But they left the changing of hearts and mind to God.
May God give us inner strength to bear His name and calling on our lives.
