A Personal Coach & Mentor’s Advice

Apostle Paul was Timothy’s personal and professional coach and mentor. Over the course of their relationship, Paul gave guidance and advice summarized in two biblical letters to Timothy. Some of the advice in today’s language are, ‘give yourself only to worthy causes’ (1:18), ‘in everything hold on your faith and keep a good conscience’ (1:19), ‘use your God-given talents’ (4:14), ‘pursue moral excellence’ (5:2, 22), ‘don’t discriminate or show partiality in anything’ (5:21), ‘discard lustful relationships and desires’ (2:22), ‘be kind to everyone’ and much more. But as Paul got ready to conclude the advice in his second letter, he ended with 2 Timothy 4:5.
