The Trapdoors of Office Demons

Office demons (forceful and persistent negative desires, forces and emotions) are born through chance occurrences, conversations and encounters, gossips, unsubstantiated suspicions and fears, unchecked pride and greed, and jealousy, which is chief among the list. The time and energy we devote to them is how they feed and grow. They resist every attempt to dislodge and remove them. They dominate our thoughts during work and off-work hours. Rather than resist and fight back, people sometimes spread them through rumors and gossips. Even when expelled, these demons work to achieve comebacks.

King Saul failed to resist his attack of workplace anger and jealousy and those demons orchestrated his down fall and death. Speaking about stubborn and hard to dislodge demons, Jesus told his disciples (Mark 9:39), “This kind can come out only by prayer and fasting.”

May God give us the wisdom, strength and courage to pray, fast, resist and expel workplace demons from our lives.
